(ROCHESTER, N.Y. – WSYR-TV) — The quest for a sixth state championship will have to wait another season for the Jamesville-DeWitt boys lacrosse team.
The J-D boys lacrosse team struggled against Shoreham-Wading River in the Class C state championship game losing 12-7 on Saturday at St. John Fisher College.
Tyler Brang led the Red Rams with two goals, while five other players found the back of the net.
J-D’s Brang and Johnny Keib were the only scorers in the first half as the Red Rams went down 8-2 going into halftime.
The offense picked up in the second half as the Red Rams netted three straight goals to pull within 10-5. But a five goal deficit is close as J-D could make it.
The Red Rams end the season at 21-2.
Tanner Burns, William Davis, Nick Kemmis, Connor Durkin, and Brang each scored one goal in the second half to shorten the deficit.
