Joseph Percoco begins sentence for corruption conviction

Joseph Percoco, a one-time top aide and campaign manager to Governor Andrew Cuomo, is in federal prison.

He began his six-year sentence at the Otisville Facility in Orange County Friday.

Percoco was convicted in March 2018 of bribery and fraud for taking $300,000 from companies that did business with New York State.

Syracuse-area developer Steven Aiello will begin his prison sentence in the bid-rigging scheme March 1, 2019.

He was convicted of conspiracy for plotting to bribe Percoco and ordered to serve three years in prison as well as pay a $500,000 fine.
