SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A jury has found Johanen Pizarro not guilty in the murder of James Springer III, 12, on Syracuse’s north side last October.
The jury handed down its decision just after 3:30 p.m. after about nine hours of deliberating over the course of two days.
The jury was called back into the courtroom late Tuesday afternoon to look at three traffic camera video clips frame by frame, trying to verify if the person seen in that video was Pizarro.
On Monday, the jury re-heard testimony from witnesses who claimed to have seen Pizzaro pull the trigger that night.
Pizarro was accused of firing ten shots into a crowd, hitting the 12-year-old, who investigators had said was not his intended target.
