LaFayette native Lars Tiffany wins first National Championship with Virginia

PHILADELPHIA, P.A. (WSYR-TV) – 

It was a showdown of two former Section III standouts on Monday in the Men’s Division I Lacrosse National Championship. 

Virginia, coached by LaFayette native Lars Tiffany defeated Yale coached by Andy Shay (Cortland) 13-9 to win the title.

It was Tiffany’s first National Championship in just his third season at the helm of UVA.

Virginia has now won six National Titles in program history.  It was their first since 2011.
