ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) -- A license plate left behind at the scene of a hit-and-run crash has lead to the arrest of a Syracuse man.
On Thursday at 10:36 p.m., the New York State Police were called to a hit-and-run crash on Bennett Street in Cicero.
Left at the scene were a front bumper and license plate of the suspect’s vehicle.
Around 11:30 p.m., State Police located the vehicle traveling south on Interstate 81.
After a short chase, spike strips were deployed and the vehicle became disabled near the intersection of North Salina Street and Bear Street.
Christopher Courtney, 23, of Syracuse, was taken into custody.
He has been charged with DWI, fleeing a police officer, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
