CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WSYR-TV) — Forty race cars took to the track this weekend at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in North Carolina. It’s a race that is held every Memorial Day.
A moment of silence was taken at the midway point at lap 200.
NASCAR had all the drivers turn off their cars, asked fans to be silent, and took the time to remember all armed service members who lost their lives in defense of the United States.
That included someone from Central New York. Corporal Kyle Schneider was remembered. He also had his name featured on a car driven by Landon Cassill.
