Lucky, the Stampede Steakhouse bull, comes out of hiding

Local News

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Out of hiding and off to the fair, Lucky the bull is back on display. This time he won’t be sitting outside of a steakhouse.

On Monday, the Oneida County Sheriff’s and State Police personally escorted Lucky from a secret location in Central New York after people tried to steal him from his old home.

“Loaded easy, tows very easy. Coming through towns, little kids are standing on the side of the road waving. It’s very nice. Very fun,” said Tom Reader, Vice President of the Boonville Oneida County Fair.

“This bull has got quite a history. I remember him being a little boy, seeing him up there as do many people for decades and decades, so it’s kind of neat to see him come out of retirement for a short time,” said Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.

A short time for sure. The fair is July 23rd through 28th and that’s where you can see Lucky for yourself. He’ll be going back into his secret hiding spot after the fair ends.
