UPDATE: Romulus man killed in Ithaca crash

ITHACA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Ithaca Police have identified the man killed on Saturday evening after crashing his car into Six Mile Creek as 50-year-old Allen McCloud of Romulus.

According to the Ithaca Police Department, officers witnessed a bystander trying to hold McCloud’s head, partially submerged in the water, until the Ithaca Fire Department could get him out of the vehicle.

McClooud was taken to Cayuga Medical Center where he later died.

A passenger in the vehicle was not injured.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Ithaca Police say a dog found in the back of the vehicle ran off, but has since been located. The dog is in the care of the Tompkins County SPCA until she can be reunited with her family.
