Update: Man shot Sunday on Butternut Street in Syracuse has died

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) –Syracuse Police say a man who was rushed to Upstate University Hospital Sunday evening after he was shot on the city’s north side has died from his injuries.

The man was identified as 20-year-old Orion Thompson.

The call came in just after 8:00 p.m. Sunday for a report of shots fired in the 700 block of Butternut Street.

Syracuse Police are asking anyone with information to call (315) 442-5222.
