SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The man who was involved in a police chase that ended in the death of two other men will spend the next seven to 21 years in prison.

Eric Dempsey was indicted by an Onondaga County grand jury in February of last year.

Syracuse Police say the crash back in September of 2017 happened during a chase after Dempsey refused to pull over on Shonnard Street.

The crash happened at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Tallman Street.

Edward Rice, 49, and Robert Owens, 22, Rice’s stepson, were killed when their car was hit.
