BRIDGEPORT, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Madison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that happened Thursday along Route 31 in Bridgeport.

Around 3 p.m., 27-year-old Caitlin Frost of Taberg, New York, was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier and crossed into the east bound lane of Route 31, colliding with a 1988 Yamaha VMAX motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, 43-year-old Christopher Tucker of Oneida was treated at the scene and transported to Upstate Hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Frost was evaluated by a drug recognition expert and consented to providing a blood sample. She admitted to using drugs prior to the accident. Results of the blood tests are pending. Police say there is also indication Frost was distracted while driving which contributed to the cause of the crash.

Based on current evidence, Frost is charged with vehicular manslaughter in the second degree, driving while ability impaired by drugs, driving with a suspended license, and failure to keep right.

Frost was arraigned and remanded to the Madison County Jail on $10,000 cash bail, $20,000 bail bond, or $40,000 partially secured bond. She’s set to appear before the Town of Sullivan Court on April 13 in regards to her charges.
