LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) The final day to register teams for the 2019 J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge has rolled around. Wednesday, May 1, is the registration deadline.
The 3.5-mile race will take over Onondaga Lake Parkway in less than three weeks.
This is the 37th year of the runner and walker-friendly race.
Organizers tell NewsChannel 9 this is the first time the race has ever been held in May.
The move to May 21 was put in place to work around schedules for more prospective participants.
“We wanted to be as inclusive as possible for the full Central New York working community and away from summer vacations and for particularly school district in universities,” said John Huhtala, CNY Market Executive for Chase Bank. “We really enjoy the camaraderie that companies pull together from the company captains railing their teams. It’s really a race for competitive runners and people who run, walk and just building team work together.”
This year’s race will benefit Syracuse Stage.
