SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — More often than not, graduations fall on Mother’s Day weekend. But for many parents NewsChannel 9’s Julia LeBlanc spoke with at the Carrier Dome, there’s no greater gift than watching your child succeed, or having them watch you succeed.
Gwendolyn Kingsberry earned her master’s degree in public relations today, and though it wasn’t easy to get where she is now, she said she couldn’t have done it without her 10-year-old daughter.
“It was important for me to show her that you never stop learning and you could always grow and be better,” Kingsberry said.
And while some moms are setting examples for their kids, others are proud to see their children move their tassels from right to left.
“It’s very special, it makes Mother’s Day 100 times better,” said Belinda Levychin, a mother of an SU graduate.
