More closing signs may be popping up in store windows. The retail group that owns shops like Ann Taylor and Dress Barn, plans to close hundreds of locations.
Ascena Retail Group told investors Thursday it plans to close up to 650 locations over the next two years. The company also owns Loft, Lane Bryant, Justice, Maurices and Catherine stores.
It’s still unclear how many store closures will affect each brand and in which cities. If lower rents at certain locations can be negotiated, they may remain open.
