NASCAR fans come from all over the country for the Watkins Glen race this weekend.
The gates open Wednesday morning, but many people come early to be the first to walk through.
“Were usually leave home around 3AM. That’s the whole excitement of it all, we’re all on a race to get here and that’s what makes it a good time,” Jamie Warner, who has been camping for 20 years, said.
Most of the fans have been coming for over twenty years, making camping a tradition.
They say the camaraderie of the camping site brings them back each year.
“Your neighbor becomes your best friend for the week. Our family has grown from 8 or 9 to around 60, that we all camp with,” one of the camper said.
Gates open tomorrow morning and the action starts Friday.
