National Grid is warning customers that neighborhood power outages may be a possibility during the expected heat wave across Central New York during the next week.
Outages would be isolated and are not expected system-wide.
“There’s certainly the opportunity for equipment at [the block-by-block] level to be stressed,” Alberto Bianchetti, a representative for National Grid said.
The company is expecting the hottest days to fall during the weekend, when power consumption is typically lower, which will help prevent problems.
If you experience an outage, National Grid recommends you call to report it as soon as possible so crews can start repairs.
