Nedrow Fire Department offering trick or treating alternative

Local News

NEDROW, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The weather might not be cooperative on Halloween, but the Nedrow Fire Department will have its doors open to offer trick or treaters an alternative.

The Nedrow Fire Department will have its doors open to those on the hunt for candy from 6 to 9 p.m. on Halloween. The firefighters do this every year, but given the weather, volunteers want to make sure people know they have a place to go and stay safe.

“We knew the weather was going to be bad. We have seen the weather reports. We want to open our doors and get the people out of the rain. Have it be a way to get them out of the rain. Indoors. And show the kids the fire trucks. And use it as a way of recruitment. See if there’s anyone who would want to come in and help us out,” Rick Nemier said.
