Gary Bubis, Jr., 37, Shawn Whaley, 23, and Brandy Shaver, 18, are accused of repeatedly torturing a 10-year-old child for months.
The child ran away from home looking for help.
“She said they were all sleeping, so she waited until they were all asleep then she left, so she wouldn’t get beat, so they wouldn’t find her,” said Autumn Lee Butchino.
The young victim wandered up Butchino’s driveway, covered in bruises and injuries to her stomach.
“She was crying, she had tears running down her face, she was all dirty, she hasn’t had a shower in two weeks,” said Butchino.
Autumn gave her leftover pizza and Mountain Dew, since the child was starving.
“She said last night she had dinner, but she didn’t eat it all because they put hot sauce on all her stuff. When she asked for a drink, they gave her hot sauce,” said Butchino.
And as they ate, the victim described the horrors they had faced.
“She said that they brought her to the [Happy Valley Game Management Park] because she was misbehaving and they tied her to the truck and they pulled her,” said Butchino.
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office said the young girl was forced to carry four weighed backpacks and run. When she didn’t run fast enough, the three would bump her with a car.
The victim is currently receiving medical care from Golisano Children’s Hospital. The other children in the home have been re-located; they’re living with other family, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Bubis, Whaley, and Shaver are all in Oswego County Jail, on $25,000 cash bail.
Leslieann Raeder, 34, is being charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child. The Oswego County Undersheriff says other charges in this case are likely.
