(WSYR-TV) – No, it’s not your TV or your antenna, the NewsChannel 9 transmitter is undergoing repairs.
Throughout the day Friday, NewsChannel 9’s over-the-air transmitter was taken offline while engineers performed some necessary maintenance work.
When that work was completed and the transmitter was returned to service the engineers became aware of another issue involving an amplifier-like device that sends NewsChannel 9’s signal to your television.
If you get NewsChannel 9 through cable or FiOS, your service is unaffected.
If you receive our broadcast over the air, or satellite, expect intermittent drops in signal into Monday.
We are in currently in the process of getting a replacement device that should resolve the issue. Our engineers hope to have a replacement by early next week.
In the meantime, we recommend re-scanning for channels. Thank you for your patience.
