North Bay man killed in two-car crash in Rome

ROME, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A North Bay man was killed in a two-car crash in Rome that happened on Tuesday.

An SUV driven by Tyler Bangs, 27, was traveling on State Route 46 when the vehicle crossed over into the northbound lane and struck a car driven by Roxanne Platt, 63, of Utica, head-on.

Bangs was taken to Rome Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Platt was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital where she is listed in critical condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
