Freshman students at Jordan-Elbridge School District could be eligible for tuition free college education. Through a partnership with Onondaga Community College, once they graduate high school, they could have free tuition at OCC if they meet certain requirements.
The program is called “OCC Advantage.”
All students at Jordan-Elbridge who meet attendance and grade point average (GPA) requirements, complete community service and graduate will be eligible to attend OCC tuition free. The GPA requirement is 2.0 which is the letter grade equivalent of a “C.”

“Basically every student that attends Jordan-Elbridge schools will have an opportunity to earn a tuition free education at OCC and I don’t know how it gets any better than that,” said Jordan-Elbridge Superintendent James Froio.
All 95 students who are presently freshman at Jordan-Elbridge High School are enrolled in the OCC Advantage program. East Syracuse-Minoa, Lafayette, Onondaga Central and Solvay Union Free School District are also taking part.
As members of the class of 2022 they will be college-ready and able to attend OCC tuition-free should they choose to do so. During the 2018-19 academic year, full-time tuition at OCC is $2,450 per semester.
