Off-duty Syracuse police officer’s gun stolen from car

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) Syracuse police are on the lookout for the person or persons responsible for stealing a police officer’s department-issued gun from her personal car.

Officer Nikki Hendrix told the police department she remembers locking her car.

A string of car break-ins happened on Burdick Avenue around 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, although it’s unclear exactly when the gun was stolen.

Hendrix is an 8-year police department veteran.

Police are asking anyone with information about the break-ins to contact the Syracuse Police Department at (315) 442-5222.
