In just 24 hours, several officers and investigators took a dangerous, armed alleged murderer off the street.

Thursday DeWitt Police Officers and members of New York State Police were recognized for their efforts investigating a double-murder and robbery at Chili’s Restaurant back in September.

Lieutenant Christopher Fuller, Lieutenant Brenton White, Sergeant Shane Spencer, Investigator Lucas Bryon and Officer Jeffrey Conrad of the DeWitt Police Department were all honored on Thursday. New York State Police Senior Investigator Todd Grant, and Investigator Eric Costello from the Troop D Bureau of Criminal Investigation along with Sergeant John Hill and Sergeant Timothy Reaska from the State Police Special Operations Response Team (S.O.R.T) were also honored.

“It is a huge day to recognize them for what they did and I could not be prouder of this group and this organization,” said DeWitt Police Chief John Anton.

Officer Conrad also was awarded 2018 DeWitt Police Officer of the Year.
