LYSANDER, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — According to police, an argument between neighbors led to a shooting that left one man dead, and his son wounded.
It was just after midnight on Monday morning when New York State Police and Baldwinsville Police were called to an assault and possible shooting at a home on Cold Springs Road and Shriver Drive in the Town of Lysander.
State police say a man and woman who lives in the upstairs apartment were in “physical altercation” with a father and son who live on the first floor. Police say during this fight, the woman was struck in the face with a shovel, and the father and son were both shot.
Troopers reported that 44-year-old William Delany was killed by the gunfire. His 27-year-old son was wounded but is expected to recover. A 36-year-old woman was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital and treated for facial injuries and released.
44-year-old Raymond J. Kratz, who lives on the second floor, has been charged with criminal possession of a Weapon in the second degree. Kratz is charged with possession of an illegal “ghost” handgun. Kratz is the suspected shooter and additional charges are pending as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fight and gunfire.
Police say they were called to the location earlier Sunday for a dispute involving the neighbors.
