Onondaga County DA’s office offering training on how to take guns away from those likely to harm themselves

ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Onondaga County District Attorney’s office will be giving a training program instructing how to take guns away from those likely to hurt themselves.

The Extreme Risk Protection Order Training, or ERPO, will take place over the next several weeks and will be given to school administrators, police officers and prosecutors.

Under the New York Civil Practices Rules, the New York State Supreme Court can issue an ERPO against a person who has access to certain types of guns.
