An Oswego County couple has been arrested following a months-long investigation surrounding child abuse allegations.
In October of 2018, State Police were notified by the Oswego County School District of a possible case of child abuse against a 4-year-old pre-kindergarten student.
Following an investigation, 23-year-old Devon Buckner and 27-year-old Sarah Diamond, of Mexico, are accused of causing physical injury and ongoing maltreatment to the 4-year-old.
They’re accused of withholding food from the child, which resulted in severe starvation.
The child is now in foster care.
Diamond and Buckner were charged with second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
They were sent to the Oswego County Jail on $2,500 cash and $5,000 bond.
