CENTRAL NEW YORK (WSYR-TV) — Oswego County is used to the snow, but some pretty intense lake effect bands even caught them by surprise. As much as six inches of new snow fell overnight and Friday morning.
Jarrett Wheeler works for DNS Landscaping of Central New York, shoveling and plowing everywhere from Oswego and Hannibal to Parish and Pulaski, but he says Mexico seemed to be getting the worst of it on Friday.
“This fell pretty quick. I would say about an inch and a half per hour in a three hour period,” Wheeler said. “A lot of people don’t like snow, but it is Upstate New York, so it keeps us busy and keeps customers happy when we’re out.”
The Village of Marcellus in western Onondaga County also woke up to quite a bit of fresh powder. People there reported about five inches of new snow fell overnight.
