NEW YORK STATE (WSYR-TV) — State Police are teaming up with local law enforcement to crack down on drunk driving over the Memorial Day weekend.

The Stop DWI/Impaired Driving Crackdown runs May 24th through the 28th.

Memorial Day weekend is one of the busiest travel times of the year and police say they see a significant spike in deadly crashes on the road.

State, county and local law enforcement will step up patrols to reduce the number of alcohol-related deaths and injuries during that weekend.
