Police: Passenger hit by bullet while on North Geddes Street

A 20-year-old man is recovering at Upstate University Hospital after he told officers, he was hit by a stray bullet fired near North Geddes Street.

Syracuse Police said the man was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, where they responded around 2:00 a.m.

Upon speaking with the victim, he stated that while riding in a vehicle on North Geddes Street, near the on-ramp to I-690, he heard multiple gunshots, one of which struck him in the shoulder.

He told police he did not know where the shots came from, and could not provide any suspect information. His injury is considered non-life threatening.

Police say they are actively investigating and further information will be released when it becomes available.
