A Corrections Officer in Oneida County has been arrested and accused of trying to bring narcotics into the state prison where he works.
27-year-old Ryan M. Santos of Rome is charged with attempted promoting prison contraband.
He was arrested Saturday by members of the New York state Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, who were working with the Department of Corrections.
Troopers say Santos worked at Midstate Correctional Facility in the Town of Marcy.
He was released after an arraignment in Oneida County and is scheduled to appear in court in Marcy on November 28.
Police want to continue the investigation before deciding if more charges will be filed in connection with the case.
