SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Great weather is expected for thousands of runners in Downtown Syracuse on Saturday for Paige’s Butterfly Run.
This marks the 23rd year Paige’s Butterfly Run has been raising money to fight pediatric cancer at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.
The not-for-profit’s namesane, Paige Yeomans Arnold, died back in 1994 from leukemia. Her parents made it their mission to help other suffering families.
“Our focus has always been on trying to help local families get through this very difficult time of diagnosis and treatment. And then we also added funding research because we like to think of ourselves as helping the patients of today with programs through Golisano Children’s Hospital, but then funding research helps the patients of tomorrow and the families of tomorrow,” said Chris Arnold, President of Paige’s Butterfly Run.
Online registration has closed, but you can register in person until 7 p.m. Thursday at Fleet Feet in Syracuse. You can also register on Saturday beginning at 7 a.m. at the Hanley Federal Building Plaza.
