SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Syracuse City School District will be holding a public hearing regarding a new charter school called Emerald Charter School.
The district is hoping to hear from city residents and district parents about the possible new school. The hearing starts on Tuesday at 5 p.m. and goes until 6 p.m. at the central office board room on Harrison.
Emerald is one of two charter high schools proposed by the New York State Education Department. Emerald proposes an “experiential and expeditionary” teaching approach and hopes to enroll more than 300 students in the coming years.
