Puppy picked up in Syracuse as stray looking for new family: Petsavers

Local News

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) Blue from Second Chance Canine Adoption Shelter is NewsChannel 9’s featured animal of the week!

Blue is a loving five-month-old Husky-mix who has been at the shelter for just over a week. He was picked up as a stray in the City of Syracuse.

“He is extremely sweet, rides well in the car, plays well with other dogs and would make an overall great family dog,” said Board President Kim Smith.

More information on Blue and the other dogs looking for fur-ever homes at Second Chance Canine Adoption Shelter can be found on their website. You can also check them out on Facebook.

Those not looking to adopt but still support the shelter are encouraged to attend the shelter’s “Evening for Second Chances,” Friday, May 17 from 6-9 p.m. at Drumlins Country Club.

Smith explained the fundraising event is one the biggest sources of income for the shelter and all the proceeds go directly to the dogs. Tickets for the event are still available
