Rash of car larcenies in the Geddes area

Local News

GEDDES, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Heads up car and motorcycle owners in Geddes, Westvale and the Town of Onondaga. You need to be on the lookout. Thieves are targeting your neighborhoods.

Geddes Police Chief Vic Gillette tells NewsChannel 9 that in the past four weeks, two motorcycles and three cars have been stolen.

Over the weekend, a house was burglarized, keys were taken from the house and a car stolen from the garage.

In the past week, they’ve also investigated six car larcenies. More reports came in on Monday just off Grand Avenue and the Town of Onondaga.

Chief Gillette says the suspects are believed to be from Syracuse, using Grant Avenue as a thoroughfare to Geddes and Onondaga.

Remember to lock your homes and cars and remove valuables from vehicles. And remember to call 911 if you see anything suspicious.
