ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — She’s a little girl who touched the lives of so many here in Syracuse and her family is spreading that joy throughout our community.
On Saturday, they held the third annual Regan’s Movie Night and Family Fun Fest at the Manlius YMCA.
Regan Shetsky was killed at three-years-old when she was hit by a car in her nursery school parking lot in 2017. Her family started the Regan’s Acts of Kindness charity to bring joy to children’s lives and teach them to pay it forward.
“My daughter would have loved this. She wouldn’t have been interested in walking for a charity walk but she would have loved doing movie night and we used to do movie nights with her all the time,” said Kelly Shetsky, Regan’s mom.
This year, that money is going toward building an interactive children’s garden focused on literacy. The Town of DeWitt has given the okay to build it next to an existing playground.
