(WSYR-TV) — Roads in Oswego are being forced to close due to rising water levels and flooding along the Lake Ontario shoreline.
County Route 89 has been closed from Rudy’s Restaurant all the way to Jackim Drive and Lakeshore Road has also been closed between Route 89 and West Lake Road due to debris from the flooding.
With the roads closing along the lakeside, businesses are feeling the impact.
The aquadam outside Rudy’s is doing its job protecting the restaurant but the area around it is flooding and rocks and debris are being washed ashore.
“Father’s Day Weekend is one of the most important weekends of the year for us, this is not a good time to have had a storm come up on the lake,” said Rudy’s owner Jason Livesey.
But Livesey is determined to keep the fish frying despite the constant thrashing of waves in his restaurant’s backyard.
