Rookie Josh Allen will make his first career start this Sunday when the Bills host the Chargers.

Head Coach Sean McDermott said “It’s the right move for our team. I don’t feel the need to elaborate. We talk in house on the moves, with all due respect to the question, this is the right move for us. You gotta understand where I’m coming from. I’m not going any further than that.”

The move comes on the heels of one of the worst losses in team history, a 47-3 setback to the Baltimore Ravens. That loss is second only to the 46-point, 56-10 loss to New England in 2007.

Peterman finished 5-for-18 for 24 yards and two inceptions in less than three quarters, before giving way to the 7th overall pick.

He finished with a 0.0 quarterback rating as the Bills trailed 40-0.

Allen fared no better behind the Bills’ offensive line on Sunday, which also allowed six sacks.

He had 74 yards passing in his first NFL game.
