Salina Bombers season kicked off Saturday

SALINA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Salina Bombers Little League kicked off their season on Saturday.

They held an annual parade where kids marched from Hinsdale Fire Department to the fields, followed by a ceremony on Saturday morning.

The organization’s president and vice president say it’s even more special this year due to the parade being cancelled in 2020 because of the pandemic.

“I mean having the kids back this year, we have over 170 kids active in our little league this year and just to see the smiles on their face and see them running up and down the baseline and seeing them performing at their best and just seeing them happy, that’s been the biggest thing for us and the biggest thing for the league this year. We’re definitely glad things are getting back to normal.”

Vice President of the Salina Bombers, Brian DeCarlo

Games ran through 7 p.m. on Saturday.
