Salina man facing multiple charges after assaulting two females

MATTYDALE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A 17-year-old female was stabbed multiple times and a 41-year-old female was threatened with a knife and choked by a Salina man on Monday afternoon.

Onondaga County 911 received a report that a female had been involved in a domestic dispute after 4:30 p.m. on Monday and the suspect had fled the scene. An off-duty Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputy saw a man changing his clothes in the parking lot of a local business and positively identified him as the suspect, James Ellis, 29, of Salina.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Ellis also threatened the older victim with a knife and choked her.

The teen victim was taken to the hospital and treated for her injuries.

Ellis is facing multiple charges, including those for assault, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal obstruction of breathing. Ellis was taken to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office for arraignment.
