Sergio Garcia won his first Masters after beating Justin Rose on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff. This is Garcia’s first major championship after 19 years on the PGA tour.

Garcia’s victory coincided with what would have been his countryman Seve Ballesteros’ 60th birthday. Ballesteros, who died in 2011, was the first European to win the Masters in 1980 and backed it up in 1983.
