After the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office’S 2018 Top Ten Most Wanted List was released, tips were received about a fugitive listed sixth on the list — Matthew Mackey

The Sheriff’s Office says Mackey, 29, of Camden, was wanted for second degree burglary.

Sheriff’s Deputies and the USMS Regional Fugitive Task Force say people’s tips led them to finding and arresting Mackey Thursday night in the city of Rome.

Warrants Unit investigators were assisted by members of the Rome Police Department in the investigation throughout the evening.

Investigators say Mackey was spotted at about 11:30 p.m. and taken into custody without incident. Mackey told investigators that he also saw himself on the Top Ten Most Wanted list.

Mackey was taken to the Oneida County Jail and is awaiting his arraignment in Oneida County Drug Court at a later time.
