Students are honoring the memory of a classmate who was brutally murdered last week, allegedly at the hands of an ex-boyfriend.
Alyssa Taft, a 17-year-old senior at Sodus High School, was found dead early Friday morning.
Police say 19-year-old David Knight-Hollis stabbed and slit Taft’s throat. He has been charged with murder in the second degree.
On Monday, seniors and staff at Sodus High School are wearing black and red in memory of Taft. All other students are wearing purple — the color for domestic violence awareness.
Calling hours for Taft are scheduled for Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Young Funeral Home in Williamson.
Funeral services will be held the following day at 10 a.m at the First United Presbyterian Church of Sodus.
