SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — In continuing their public outreach process, the State DOT hosted an open house on Tuesday about the I-81 viaduct project.
Updates on new developments in the project were presented, along with new drawings. Community members were able to ask questions about the endorsed community grid design and the environmental impact statement released in April before a formal presentation.
With the open house going on inside the OnCenter, DeWitt’s Deputy Town Supervisor was outside with fellow local leaders opposed to removing the highway from its current path.
Kerry Mannion called the 15,000 page report from the DOT about the 81 recommendation “very complicated.”
