State police charge man who struck Trooper Craig Foglia

The New York State Police at Painted Post announces that the driver who rear ended the NYSP Troop Car and seriously injured Trooper Craig Foglia during a traffic stop on May 17, 2017 off I-86W in the Town of Campbell has been issued several traffic ticket.

Troopers say this comes after the investigation was completed and a conference with Steuben County District Attorney Brooks Baker and Tpr. Foglia. The driver, Kenneth Aukett, 78, of Westmont, NJ was issued tickets by troopers for the misdemeanor of Reckless Driving, and violations of Fail to Move Over and Yield to an Emergency Vehicle, Fail to Reduce Speed, and Driving Across Hazard Markings on the Roadway.

According to troopers Aukett is scheduled to appear in the Town of Campbell Court on 09/18/17.
