ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) — Flu season appears to be winding down as state officials say the disease is no longer prevalent in New York.
In a statement, “Although influenza is no longer prevalent in New York State, flu season is not over yet. It is still imperative that New Yorkers get vaccinated to protect themselves and their loved ones from the flu and take appropriate precautions such as staying home from work or school if they are sick.”
Flu cases peaked in February, officials say, when there were 9,600 lab-confirmed cases statewide during the week of February 17 through 23.
