New York State Police say 30-year-old Justin Pratt of Wayland was arrested Saturday for rape charges. He was arraigned at Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Court the next day.

It’s believed that Pratt had a sexual encounter with a child under the age of 17 on December 31 within the Village of Geneseo.

Police said Pratt is employed by FF Thompson Hospital and is contracted out as an athletic trainer to the Geneseo School District.

Pratt was charged with third-degree rape, criminal sex act in the 3rd degree, and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was remanded to the Livingston County Jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. An Order of Protection was issued to the victim.

The State Police and the Geneseo School District Administration are continuing their investigations. Anybody with information is encouraged to contact State Police Headquarters at (585) 398-4100.
