OSWEGO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) Winds gusting close to 70 mph riled up the high waters of Lake Ontario.
At times, waves on the big lake approached 20 feet Friday.
Strong wind gusts pounded the Lake Ontario shoreline Thursday night and Friday. At times the wind gusts were powerful enough to move boats already in winter storage in the International Marina.
One boat was blown into the lake waters and sunk.
The breakwall was no match for the big waves, and once again the famous Oswego Lighthouse was bathed in the spray from the battering waves.
