SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — More than 50 students from the Syracuse City School District took part in a signing ceremony on Thursday as they were welcomed into the P-TECH program.
The program is a partnership between the school district and OCC.
P-TECH stands for Pathways in Technology Early College High School.
It creates a path for students to get their high school diploma while also earning an Associate’s Degree and be one of the first in line for work after they finish their education.
“It gives me hope for…because all our teachers growing up saying they didn’t have this everywhere we go. And it’s kind of like exciting and humbling and it makes me happy that I can go on and know what I am going to do and not be confused and change majors and stuff like that,” said Tiana Vo.
Areas of study include mechanical, electrical and health technology, as well as clinical lab technicians.
