Sylvan Beach is open, but Oneida County is not allowing visitors to swim in some areas.
Signs will be posted asking the public not go into the water in areas that were previously supervised.
The closed area includes the 125 feet of shoreline behind what was Pfohl’s Beach House and now DiCastro’s on the southern end of the lake.
The rest of the water is “swim at your own risk” conditions.
The beach itself is open.
