Syracuse Common Council approves deer and tick management report

Local News

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A big step to fighting the deer, tick and Lyme problem in our local area. At Monday’s Syracuse Common Council meeting, councilors gave the go-ahead to the deer and tick management report.

That report came from Mayor Walsh’s advisory group.

Among the recommendations, the plan would call for the baiting and killing of deer by USDA sharp-shooters. Police would be made aware of everything that’s happening, but for safety reasons, the public would not be told exact sites.
